FCP Saturday Road Ride…it’s a weekly thing.

January 23rd, 2013

Our very own FCP Saturday Road Ride is at 10am weekly.  Yes, even when it’s cold.  Unless it’s raining hard….we ride.  See House Mtn!  Expect a 25 mile ride on some great roads.  Beginners are always welcome.  Matt will make sure the slower riders know the route and can help with repairs if needed.  Regulars that know the route can ride ahead and add in the 10 mile loop around House Mtn.  Gain more elevation!  This is a group ride where no one is to get dropped or left behind.  There is no cost and we do it to help you get into cycling the fun way and without getting discouraged.  Got a road bike or CX bike with road tires?  We can help you with that too!     058 062 044 043 034 066 067 069 068 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7O8SK-L6Ib8&noredirect=1047054056

AMBC Sharps Ridge Trail Building Day! Saturday 1/26/2013

January 22nd, 2013

SharpsRidgeAMBC

This will be the 2nd official workday on a new piece of single track on Sharps Ridge.  Be there on Saturday at 9am 1/26/2013.  Boots, gloves, and water are recommended.  Plans include some finishing work from the last workday, removing some newly downed trees, some corridor cutting, and LOTS more bench cutting trail.  The last work day prompted a good turnout and we hope to see an even bigger turnout this weekend!  Hikers, cyclists, runners, dog walkers alike are welcome to help!  There will be something for everyone to do.  There is plenty of parking towards the end of the ridge where the last workday met near to the red roofed gazebo picnic area.  There will be coffee for energy and lunch around noon.

Buy Local!

December 19th, 2012

Well if you haven’t been in the store recently you’ll need to come in to see what kind of deals we are finding on bikes from Raleigh, Marin, Diamondback, Surly, Cysco, and a few others too.  We are here to help you get into the right bike.  Everyday we help people with their bikes and educate them on how to care for them.   Right now we have a good selection of commuter and city bikes in the $330-$700 range.  ALL ON SALE!  We have a great selection of Raleigh kids bikes in stock from the 16″ wheel size up to the 24″ wheel size.   Small frame 26″ wheel bikes for tall kids are in stock!  Come in to check them out!  We have a few Marin 29ers in and have been finding deals on 2012’s with all our brands still having small quantities in their warehouses!  We can usually find deals if you ask!   If you already have a bike don’t forget that service and repairs are our specialty and we can do some one on one maintenance sessions with you…just ask.  Accessories are on sale through Christmas and YES this includes car bike racks and helmets!  We only carry quality warranted car bike racks from reputable companies that stand behind their products such as…Swagman, Yakima, Thule, Kuat, Saris, Rockymounts,  and more!  We also assemble and install car racks bought here at the FCP for free!  We can’t always have every item in stock all the time but before you order online…allow us to assist you in your decision and let us order the item for you.  This way you are supporting a local business and ultimately your local economy and Knoxville’s cycling community.

Here’s some catch up pics you’ve missed if you haven’t been following us on Facebook.

Trade your bike in for credit towards a new one!

October 23rd, 2012

Most of you already know that we take trade in bikes to help adults and kids get into a new bike, 2nd bike, bigger bike, better bike….and so on.  We do not accept department store bikes but any bike store quality bike will get you some credit to use towards your next bike.  Just bring your bike in so we can look at it’s condition and give you an estimate for trade in value.   We also do consignment sales to help you sell your bike.  This is a better way to get more $$ for your bike.  We keep 20% for helping with the sale of your bike and this still gets most people more $ than trading it in.   It just may take a little longer depending on who walks in the door looking for a used bike.   We also adjust the bikes for the potential buyer and tune the bikes if needed before sale.  In fact, we have a fairly good selection of used bikes for sale and some consignment bikes in stock currently.  Here is a current list.
